Frank Cotolo offers his picks for the Pick-4 at Balmoral Park on Feb. 2, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering Program.
Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013
Second-time ticket member Elkhorn Damien won for us last week, paying $10.60 and that eased the weekend losses. We also had non-playable Aqua Artist in Sunday’s combo but he paid a poor $2.60 (was not even a single). That was an unusually big ticket for us ($16) which got as close as any lesser costing ticket we have had. We are a bit behind for the year but ahead of last year so let’s dive into February with aplomb.
$2 play 7/56/7/6 = $4
Race 10: (7) Major Monet is perfectly placed for a strong trip. He had some road problems last out among a tad better than this group and if given one chance to go may easily take this one and at a price.
Race 11: (5) Time To Roll was a horse to watch at the Meadowlands last week. Showing up here is quite a positive delight, as his two moves may prove exceptional in a Crete mile. (6) Most Happy Keene may not need a race over the mile here after a great qualifier at Maywood and all of his experience in New York, which makes this step up assessment questionable; those claimers at Saratoga may be better than these.
Race 12: (7) Cams Princess Wave won at a lower level on this mile before shipping to Chicago for some tiring affairs that may have put some muscle on her for another try at two turns. She belongs at this level and has the potential to shine now.
Race 13: (6) Really Lucky needs little luck these days because he is rolling and seems unaware of class as he mows through wins with style, like he may here, tagging a hat trick and preparing for a step up.
