Harrington, DE --- Harrington Raceway’s 2014 race meet will resume on a Monday through Thursday schedule beginning Aug. 18.

Entries for the opening night program will be taken Tuesday (Aug. 12) with the entry box closing at 10 a.m. Online entries are currently open.

Horsemen phoning in their entries may be greeted by a new voice as Kevin Mack was recently hired as the new racing secretary.

Mack has been involved in racing for nearly 50 years and was most recently the racing secretary at Hoosier Park. He is also a licensed starter, judge, announcer and an auctioneer of 20 years at the Blooded Horse Sale. Mack attended Earlham College in Indiana where he obtained a teaching and physical education degree.

Harrington’s signature race, the Bobby Quillen Memorial (Sept. 8 elims, Sept. 15 final), will feature some of the sport’s top older pacers. A list of nominees can be found here.

Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund stakes for 2-year-olds will begin Oct. 6.

Horsemen seeking to enter their horses are encouraged to enter online via the USTA’s electronic entry system, or by contacting the race office at 302.398.5970.
