Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, July 26, 2014
$1 play: 35/48/5/25 = $8
Race 10: Extremely tough sequence tonight and I'm not going very deep. In the first leg (3) Real Or Magic has chased torrid miles in last two and has been the most conistent of any in here at this level in recent. (5) Our Dragon King didn't race badly against Invitational pacers last time after being bothered past the half. Two back unleashed a 1:21.4 final three quarter rally from post 10 to just miss against weaker. Fast four-year-old has never fulfilled the potential he showed as a freshman but seems to be heading in the right direction and his best will likely put him in the thick of this.
Race 11: The fast finishing (4) Whistle Pig has had tough posts against better in last two after gamely brushing and holding sway also against tougher three back. Takes key drop, finds a good spot to set up her brush and has won at this level the last two times she's raced at it. (8) Love You Always was dull last time after tiring when unable to clear despite :26.1 second quarter brush two back. Mare drops to a level she should go well at and reunites with pilot who has been aggressive with her the last two times he's steer. May be the value play here.
Race 12: (5) Always The Sun paced a sparkling 1:20.4 final three quarters rallying from impossible fifth over spot. Was competitive in Indiana Sire Stakes events prior and shows a nice win at this level in lifetime best mile despite being bothered nearing three quarters back in May. Seekman pupil has plenty of upside and may handle his older foes again from better spot tonight.
Race 13: (2) Special Joe speedy 9-year-old hasn't been this low in a long while and should take them down the pike. (5) No Fear No Doubt is hard to gauge in current form but also takes key drop and will likely show improvement at this level.
