Catskill Steve offers his picks for the $20,000 Pick-4 at Balmoral Park on June 21 part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Balmoral Park  Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, June 21, 2014

 $1 play: 478/310/36/27 = $24

Race 10: In a race loaded with early speed, (7) Master Of Desire got ground saving trip last time and exploded with :27 final panel to beat similar. Seven-year-old has found best stride, has won last two times when Casey has driven and figures to be charging late once again. (8) Holdingallthecards looked like a winner last time but was outkicked by top one who had better trip. Will likely be following that one this time and looks like the one to beat. (4) Real Or Magic has  finished fast in all recent starts. Veteran is also racing in good form and has shown the ability to be used twice in a mile.

Race 11: (10) Big Brad was over matched in 1:49.4 mile against tougher in second start of the year. Two back roared home to finish second against similar group to this evening's. Four-year-old draws 10-hole but showed plenty of ability here last year and could be ready to handle this level in third seasonal start. (3) Blooming Genius blew out lesser here two back in lifetime best mile then put in an ultra game uncovered try missing by a neck in 1:50.2 mile against Pennsylvania Sire Stakes foes at The Meadows. Takes on older rivals tonight but seems to be much improved and could develop into something.

Race 12:  (6) Life Is Good Today drops off a much improved uncovered placing against tough field. (3) Lennox Blue Chip has been racing well despite tough trips in recent. Big threat on best.

Race 13: (2) Shiswell's Delight had 10-hole last time dropping to best level. Finds a better spot to set up his brush and will likely be a handful tonight. (7) Washington Hanover cost us the Pick-4 last Saturday night when the even money choice blew a 3-length lead in mid stretch. Six-year-old is better than this level when on his game and we will give him another chance on or from off the pace in finale.

Good Luck!
