Camille set a season's best and tied the Scioto Downs track record for an older pacing mare of 1:50.4.

The Open pacing mares were showcased in race seven. Camille, driven by Chris Page and trained by Ron Burke, scored at 7-5 odds. The 6-year-old mare by Camluck set a season's best and tied the track record for an older pacing mare of 1:50.4.

She worked hard for the lead, leaving from post seven after a scratch. Camille and Page set hot fractions of :26.2, :54.3 and 1:22.3. She sealed the deal with a 1-1/4 length victory over She's Shocking and Y Mach Me.

The first feature on the evening was race three as a field of seven mares went to post for the $20,000 prize. Easy Strength, driven by Jim Pantaleano for trainer Gilbert Travis Jr. paid double digits from post five.

The 5-year-old mare by Royal Strength out of Easy Lover left hard from post five. Clearing to the top before the quarter and catching an easy half for this bunch in :57.4, Pantaleano and his mare glided to victory in 1:55.3. Facial Expressions for trainer/driver Hugh Beatty was second and Final Justice grabbed the show spot. These three magnificent mares pulled off a $3,384.00 trifecta.

The horse and gelding trotters had their spotlight in race five. A field of nine formed to take their shot for the $20,000 purse. Run And Tell Pap prevailed after getting a perfect pocket trip to post time favorite Final Breath. Run And Tell Pap is a 7-year-old gelding by High Falls and trained by leading conditioner Ron Burke. Chris Page had the assignment from post nine.

He pressed hard for the front to an opening quarter in :27.3 before releasing Final Breath and taking the two hole trip. Page waited patiently for the super stretch and the gelding responded, crossing the wire in a season's best 1:54.2. Completing the exotics were Final Breath and Boy Meets Girl K.

Racing continues on Saturday (May 31), with post time at 6:30 p.m.
