Harrington, DE --- James Moore III’s NF Happenstance ($5.60, Jack Parker Jr.) earned a decisive win in the $17,000 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway on Wednesday (May 7) in 1:54.2 and set a new track record for 4-year-old mares. It also established a national season's mark for 4-year-old trotters on a half-mile track.

NF Happenstance set a new track record for 4-year-old trotting mares.

The SJ’s Caviar mare and trainer/driver Parker were sent for the lead immediately from their rail post position and never relinquished the lead in a two length win over Spunky Jack and I’m So Striking.

Favorite Traverse Seelster, who nosed out NF Happenstance last week for the win, mounted a challenge first-over but never seriously threatened the front-runner in their rematch.

NF Happenstance also equaled the all-age track record for trotting mares, co-held by Allmar Surprise.

Trainer Parker acquired NF Happenstance earlier in the year and has had success at both Delaware tracks and the Meadowlands, where she won two consecutive races in April.

Allan Davis continued to have the hot hand with four driving wins, giving him 32 through 11 nights of racing. George Dennis and Tony Morgan each had a double.
