Catskill Steve offers his picks for the $25,000 Pick-4 at Balmoral Park on April 13 part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Balmoral Park  Pick-4, Races 7-10, Sunday, April 13, 2014

 $1 play: 145/19/46/89= $24

Race 7: (1) Dee Dee Sage left for position from 7-hole, made second move brushing to the top, faced immediate pressure and held well through :27.4 kicker. Rugged mare gets the rail and appears on edge. Although the 1 looks best I'll back her up with (4) Carnoustie who had little chasing wicked :55.1 final half against tougher in last; drops and looks like a major player at this level and the powerful finishing (5) Ryleigh's Lilly who flew home with :55.1 final half in first start of the year just missing to a good TEs Zenyata who brought her A game to the table.

Race 8: (9) Fortune Dor continues to race in sharp form and comes off an ultra-game uncovered try holding well through :56.3 final half, post only knock. (1) No Fear No Doubt takes a key drop and gets the rail with speed to take them a long way.

Race 9:  (6) One Loud Ding has had tough trips in all recent starts; edge for pilot who has been hot in recent weeks. (4) Hoosier Hilda has tactical speed and gets Widger back who won with her twice here last December.

Race 10: (9) Elijah's Jet made a sharp middle half brush but couldn't clear in last and wound up tiring badly, two back finished well against better field. Hard to get excited about pacer that's 1 for 43 lifetime starting from 9-hole, but he has looked better in recent and could be charging late in second try at this reduced level. (8) Lofty Native made a wide move around top one last time but couldn't finish the deal. Is another camera-shy type who has been racing better and figures to be a factor with the right trip.

Good Luck!
