A field of 18 trotters will compete on Sunday (Jan. 26) in Europe’s richest trotting race, the Prix d’Amerique at Vincennes in Paris, with a total purse of $1.35 million.

Three horses were eliminated, as no more than 18 horses are allowed to race.

Ready Cash, who was second last year and won the race in 2011 and 2012, leads the French team. Royal Dream, who is the defending champion, is also entered, but has struggled to find his best form.

Just four foreign trotters take their chance in this prestigious event. From Italy entered are Nesta Effe and Mack Grace SM, from Norway is Yarrah Boko (who in fact is Swedish born) and from Sweden is Maharajah.

The post time is 10:20 a.m. (EST).
