William Bork, 80, dies

Columbus, OH --- William J. Bork, Jr., 80, of Wyomissing, Pa., died Jan. 14, 2014 in Reading, Pa.

Born in Orange, N.J., to the late William J. Sr. and Helen Marie Bork, he is a former resident of Michigan and resided in the Bucks County area of Pennsylvania for many years before moving to Wyomissing.

Mr. Bork served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then went on to become a horse racing executive for Penn National Gaming.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, playing poker, and most of all, spending quality time with his cherished family.

Mr. Bork is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Hasiak Bork; children, Jennifer Ann (Steven) Anderson, William J. III (Lisa Rene) and Joseph Robert (Tanya); grandchildren, Shannon, Hannah, William IV, Joseph Robert Jr., Lucy, Jake and Liam; brother, Robert; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet Dewar and Karen.

Visitation will be held Saturday (Jan. 18) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 p.m. at The Church of the Epiphany in Brick. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
