Alexis Maria Magee, 20, dies

Columbus, OH --- Alexis “Alley” Maria Magee, 20, died Jan. 5, 2014 at Morris Hospital.

Born in Naperville, Ill., on Dec. 21, 1993, she was the daughter of Dean and Kimberly (Hegwood) Magee. She attended Minooka and Morris high schools.

She was a groom for her father’s Standardbred racing stable in Ottawa and loved working with her father’s horses. Her favorite horse was Frostonpunkin.

She enjoyed mudding, snowmobiling, dirt-biking, and horseback riding. She loved animals, especially horses. A very free-spirited young lady, she loved having family and friends around. She loved God and is now free to walk with Him.

She is survived by her parents; brother, Taylor; grandparents, Tillie and Fred Hegwood; paternal grandmother, Orriene Buckley; and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Curtis.

Visitation will be held on Saturday (Jan. 11) from 3-7 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located at 301 West Washington Street, Morris, Ill. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday (Jan. 12) at 3 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Yandell officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.
