Millstone Twp., NJ --- With just two days left in 2013, there is still time to make a gift to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation and receive a tax-deductible receipt.

A total of 188 horses are under the full care of SRF; 108 are unattractive to adopters due to age or injury and will remain with SRF until they pass.

Gifts will provide feed, board, necessary veterinary care, worming, hoof and dental care, and assist in finding caring homes while helping with the bi-annual follow-ups of the 2,500 horses adopted to ensure every horse remains safe in their caring home.

SRF is funded primarily through gifts of kindness from those who have a love and respect for the noble horse and are opposed to their last days facing slaughter in Mexico or Canada. With your generosity SRF can continue to help horses such as 12-year-old Enjoy The Day, who was rescued from the doorstep of slaughter this year in poor condition and cared for by SRF and now has a special place to call home.

This same story repeated 31 times this year, but not all have found a home yet and remain under SRF's care. A total of 118 adoptions were accomplished in 2013.

Gifts may be made through the SRF website,, or mailed to 353 Sweetmans Lane, Suite 101, Millstone Twp., NJ 08535.
