Anvil Raider N retires with a win

Northfield, OH --- Anvil Raider N ended his career with another victory at Northfield Park on Saturday (Dec. 28), winning the evening’s tenth race in a time of 1:57.3.

Anvil Raider N was a 1:57.3 winner in his final career start.

The win was his 23rd victory this year, which ranks Anvil Raider N as the leading dash-winning horse in North America for 2013.

Despite leading the continent in wins, this year will mark the final racing season for Anvil Raider N. The 14-year-old faces mandatory retirement on Dec. 31 per the rules of the United States Trotting Association.

Anvil Raider N (In The Pocket-Motu Sweet-Great Mann) is owned and trained by Will Johnson of Monroe, Mich. Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Anvil Raider N leaves the racing scene with 75 career victories in 281 North American starts and has earned an overall bankroll (including foreign earnings) of $340,812 with a lifetime mark of 1:51 set as an 8-year-old at Mohawk Racetrack.
