27-year-old Swedish Mare Queen L is dead. In 1993 she won the Prix d’Amerique with trainer-driver Stig H Johansson in the bike.

1993 was a great year for Queen L, who swept several international stake races all over Europe. She took a mark of 1:57f and earned $2.7 million.

Queen L was sired by Crowntron – he by Speedy Crown -  out of the Swedish mare Attila L – she by the French sire Tibur.

In fact Queen L was one of the first international top trotters who had French blood in her genes.

On the racetrack, Queen L was a winner, but in the breeding shed, she was a disappointment. Her best foal, Prince L (sired by Varenne) earned $75,000 and took a mark of 1:57.4f.
