Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 7-10, Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013
I hit the Pick-4 last night at Balmoral. For $1 it paid $261.90.
$1 play: 34/348/467/57 = $36
Race 7: (4) Kate The Great made a :54.4 middle half brush to the lead, gave way late in much improved try; looks set now. (3) Park Lane Heather failed to fire late after chasing tougher from the pocket; takes a key drop after some competitive tries against faster and is the one to beat at likely odds on.
Race 8: (3) Whistle Pig is a fast finishing mare who returns to favorite oval at reduced level following a game uncovered try at Maywood. (8) Party Hangover has been finishing well against tougher. Draws tough spot against lesser and may try leaving. (4) Pardon is a once formidable mare that has fallen upon hard times but may have the most inside speed of any in here and may get wakeup call tonight; dangerous.
Race 9: (7) Lookin' Ahead showed speed against tougher at Hoosier two back before making a break in Balmoral return last time. Drops into weak field and may shake loose with clean trip. (4) Taxman had tough first over trip in last following an early break two back; likely to blast for a trip. (6) Fox Valley Sienna has been erratic in a number of recent starts but has some ability and is going to put it all together one of these weeks. Should be included against this group.
Race 10: (7) Bell Valley Art had 10 hole last time and was impeded early, recovered and caught the field from far back, missing by two lengths after pacing a sparkling 1:23.3 final three-quarters; gets regular pilot back and slightly better spot. (5) Bullwinkle has looked improved since shipping to Balmoral and has a big shot in third try for hot barn/driver combo.
