Columbus, OH --- Arthur L. “Art” Reynolds, D.D.S., 79, of Springfield, Ill., died Oct. 12, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Reynolds was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Springfield, the son of the late John and Della Tremaine Reynolds. He married Carol Ann McTaggart on July 3, 1974 in Springfield.
He was a graduate of Lanphier High School and received his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Reynolds practiced dentistry for more than 49 years. He was a member of several professional dental organizations, including The International College of Dentists and the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners.
He owned and enjoyed Standardbreds and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Scott, Steve (Julie) and Shawn (Christine); grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Nicholas, Quinn, Benton, Matthew, Elise and Hannah; siblings, Donna (Herb) Rush and Ray (Barb); and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
The family would like to invite friends and family to a reception to celebrate his life from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield.
Graveside ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 17) at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bob Swickard officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Interveteran’s Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
