Owned by A Rocknroll Dance Stable and trained by Jim Mulinix, the 4-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Wichita Hanover horse was driven to victory by Tim Tetrick. It was his sixth win in 15 season's trips, lifting his 2013 bankroll to $497,737.
A Rocknroll Dance ($3.40) took over the lead before the :53.4 half-mile marker and was still on top at the three-quarters in 1:22.1.
The winner paced a final quarter in :26.3 to hold off Bolt The Duer (Mark MacDonald) by a head at the wire. Our Lucky Chip was third for Trace Tetrick.
"All these horses in this race are very talented, they can all sprint fast," said driver Tim Tetrick. "When you turn it into a sprint like that, it's anybody's race.
"You know my horse really raced well, he fought gamely. They made a little bridle change where he can see a little bit more. When he saw them coming, he was racing everybody he could see."
