Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013
$1 play: 268/3569/57/45 = $48
Race 10: (8) Dune In Red comes off two solid tries in stakes company; used hard to get the top in both and still able to finish fast. Takes a key drop and may be a handful. (2) Miss Pat Weisar had eight hole in the slop last time following a solid two-move place finish from seven hole behind the tough Pardon two back. Overdue mare moves inside and is capable of brushing past these. (6) Holiday Shopper is an Ohio invader that shows some good rallies from tough spots in recent. Should go well at this level and mile track may be more to her liking.
Race 11: Tough race here. (6) St David Hanover had long overland trip from nine hole and still managed a :27 final quarter in 1:50.2 mile. (3) Agood Time To Rock chased the sharp Extravagant Art home from the pocket, finishing in :27.4 from similar spot. The 3-year-old continues to race sharp and figures to be tough. (9) Middle Aged Crazy couldn't sustain rally after pacing a :56.1 middle half, making wide move against tougher. Drops and could be the value play from this spot. (5) Heath makes 37th start of the year (81st over two seasons) and may be beginning to feel it, but reunites with Oosting and gets better spot to set up his late kick.
Race 12: (5) Aliyah Maria had post eight in both elim and final on Super Night. Mare had been competitve against tougher prior, finds a good spot and can handle these. (7) Just By Design has rounded into form for Brink and had a tough uncovered trip in Super Night Final. Is Dave's choice over the top one and appears to have a big chance here despite outside draw.
Race 13: (5) Bell Valley Art paced a :55.4 final half to blow by similar in last. The 5-year-old seems in career form right now and should be tough again. (4) The Gorgeous One couldn't handle top one last time but continues to hold good form and has speed to sit close up once again in what figures to be a quicker early pace.
