Northfield, OH--Despite being the oldest in the race, 14-year-old Armbros Revenge A paced home for his 50th career victory on Tuesday (Sept. 17), winning Northfield Park’s eighth race of the evening.
The classy veteran pacer has 269 career starts, winning 50 times, and finishing second and third 33 and 26 times, respectively. Armbros Revenge A (Armbro Operative-Family Revenge-J J’s Pennant) has career earnings of $246,507 and a lifetime mark of 1:53.2 taken at The Meadows at age 11. The pacer’s richest win was for a purse of $8,100 in a $10,000 claiming race at The Meadows in 2010.
Armbros Revenge A started from the rail and led his competition the entire mile. He posted fractions of 28.2, 58.1, 1:27.3 and 1:56.4 and finished 5-½ lengths clear of his closest competitor, Coal Burner (Alex Hawk). Armbros Revenge A was the heavy favorite and returned $3.20 to win.
