Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 7-10, Wednesday, September 4, 2013
$1 play: 4,9,10/1,3,6/2,3,9/4 = $27
Race 7: (9) Justine's Pride sharp mare was never fully clear against tougher last time, found room late and stormed home with :26.3 final panel to nail show. Two back wired lesser in a lifetime best 1:54.1 mile. Wheels back off three days rest and should be gunning in a field lacking a ton of early speed. (10) Coleheartedwoman nailed top one back on 8/21 despite being shuffled turning for home. Continues to race well at this level and post 10 looks like only knock. (4) Fox Valley Isabella made a sharp second quarter brush to the top, paced a :27.4 third quarter and drew off in powerful score against lesser. Steps up but must be respected in current form.
Race 8: (1) Evil Urges classy 5-year-old just failed to hold on losing to pocket sitter despite trotting a :27.3 final quarter, can amend. (3) Nonverbal Hanover has finished fast in both Balmoral tries. Gets better spot and figures to be charging late. (6) Mischievous Jesse is two for three since returning to Balmoral including a perfect trip score over top two among others last time.
Race 9: (2) Jitterbug Jack paced a 54.4 middle half making long uncovered grind only to make unfortunate break turning for home. Prior efforts were solid closing tries from difficult spots. 7-year-old is 0 for 25 on the year and just 1 for his last 33 but moves into new barn and seems close to snapping slump. (3) Arch Villain has disappointed in many recent tries including last time when he gapped live cover and found his best stride late while finishing closer to the grandstand than the rail. I'll include him one more time. (9) Larry's Place never fired last time and draws tough spot but gets Oosting back while racing in good form and should be a late factor.
Race 10: (4) Scootnfordamoney sat in off a slow early pace was blocked until midstretch, found a seam late and exploded with a 26.4 final panel to miss by less than two lengths in unlucky mile. Put in a solid placing two back in which he made a 56.1 middle half brush to the lead but was unable to hold off the tough Brief's Boy late. Gets Oosting and can take it with clear trip.
