Fashion Mystery upset Rocklamation and Anndrovette in a $30,000 Mares Handicap Pace. Over a sloppy track and not as speed-favoring as the Chester oval sometimes can be, Anndrovette was stung hard to a :26.3 opener from post eight to make the lead, with Fashion Mystery spotting fourth and Rocklamation right behind her. After a :55 half, Fashion Mystery came raw and paced an individual quarter in :27 to clear Anndrovette, with Rocklamation right on Eric Carlson’s helmet; after the 1:22.4 next split was hung up, the latter two fought hard all the way home before Fashion Mystery prevailed by a neck over Rocklamation in 1:50.3. Anndrovette settled for fourth, behind Gottaseeaboutagirl, who was in the outside flow. Despite being assigned post six in the handicap event, just inside the two chalks, Fashion Mystery paid $29.20 to win.
