His trainer, George Ducharme, a longtime resident of Massachusetts who has been training horses for 33 years, appreciated the idea and has provided some facts, photos, and history on the horse labeled, "The King."
This Hambletonian winner exemplifies the spirit of racing that has been lost for decades. Born in Massachusetts, a homebred son of RC Royalty, Royalty For Life entered Hambletonian week in the number two spot in the rankings by Ken Warkentin, the Meadowlands' announcer. His victory brought on the title, "The King."
The King's Facebook page is similar to that hosted by the owners of Arch Madness.
"That is where I got the idea for doing this," Judy Bokman, the SRF's executive director, said. "All of us at SRF are big fans of Arch Madness, his owners are special -- just like their horse. We enjoy following and checking for updates on Facebook."
The King's page is titled in his name, Royalty For Life, please visit the page on FaceBook and click "Like."
