Washington, PA --- Following its Friday, Aug. 16 card, The Meadows Racetrack and Casino will be dark for just over two weeks to allow for track maintenance and refurbishing. The track’s race book will remain open for simulcast viewing and wagering throughout the hiatus.

When The Meadows resumes live racing on Tuesday, Sept. 3, it will introduce a new schedule that features afternoon cards almost exclusively. Generally, the track will race each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:55 p.m., ET.

For the balance of 2013, only two evening programs are scheduled, on Friday, Sept. 13, when The Meadows hosts Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championships and consolations for each 3-year-old division, and Saturday, Oct. 5, when The Meadows again will serve as the site for all eight Pennsylvania Fair Championships. Post time for those cards will be at 6:55 p.m.

A special note about the Friday, Aug. 16 card: Since it’s the final program of the current meet, the Pick-5, Pick-4 and last Superfecta on the card all are “must-pays.” First post will be at 6:55 p.m.
