Northfield, OH --- Lotto Winner kicked home to win the $5,000 Open Trot in the opening race at Northfield Park on Monday (April 8).

Lotto Winner (Credit Winner-Doulotta) was near the back through fractional times of :28, :57.3 and 1:28 before trotting home in :28.4, passing rivals and stopping the clock in 1:57.2. Finishing behind Lotto Winner were Lady Rev, Norma’s Rose, Sure Thing, Senator Sam and Son Of A Spur.
Monday’s triumph was Lotto Winner’s third this year and increased her lifetime wins tally to 11. Her career earnings now stand at $90,610. She returned $33.60 to win.
Lite Me Up took the $5,000 Open Pace for owner/trainer Michael Epler.
Lite Me Up (Stand Forever-Hills War Feather) sustained a successful first-over bid to draw off and win by 3-1/4 lengths in a winning time of 1:54.2. Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. piloted the 10-year-old. Completing the race were Double Dribble, Heza Star Cruiser, Tidewater Tomcat, LD’s Super Duty, Custers Last Stand, State Of The Union and Bet On Art.
Lite Me Up now has two wins this year and 49 successes in his career. Monday’s earnings pushed his career bankroll to $363,749. He paid $4.60 to win.
Gladiare Grande paced home for his third straight win in Monday’s 11th race. The 7-year-old was driven and is co-owned by Ryan Stahl. Nichole Gagnon owns the gelding with Stahl and also does the conditioning.
Gladiare Grande led at every call through fractions of :28, :57.1, 1:26.1 and 1:54.4. He won by 3-3/4 lengths over his closest competitor, A Bay Bay (Jason Thompson).
Monday’s triumph increased Gladiare Grande’s (Sharky Spur-Ladybug Hanover) lifetime wins to 24 and his career earnings to $112,214. He returned $3.00 to win.
