Monday’s (March 18) edition of Racing Roundup features results stories from Dover Downs and Northfield Park.
Lorrie Please holds on in Dover distaff feature
Dover, DE --- After four straight near misses, Lorrie Please held on for a 1:53.2 victory in the $16,000 Mares Winners Over Pace feature on a sloppy track on March 18 at Dover Downs.

Starting from an inside post did not hurt the 6-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-National Gallery in gaining her second win of the year along with four seconds and two thirds.
Eric Carlson quickly took Lorrie Please to the lead and continued to fight off challengers en route to victory, winning an extremely tight photo from hard-charging Rock N Load (Roger Plante). Megs Breeze (Jonathan Roberts) took show honors.
Allen and Ira Kaplan and David Sheib own the winner, who has earned $37,495 in 2013 and $321,040 in her career.
