Columbus, OH --- Frank Peterson, 85, died March 16, 2013.

A native of Yancey County, Burnsville, N.C., he was a World War II veteran, serving abroad.

He was a Standardbred trainer for 40 years and longtime member of the USTA. He followed his sons' horses after retirement.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Eva Jo Garland-Peterson; son, trainer Mickey (Dawn); and granddaughter, Brittany Rusczyk.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the HHYL.
