Content to watch early from post 7, Annieswesterncard saw 13-10 choice Electrofire (Brian Sears) step around Sapphire City (Brent Holland) before a 27.2 opening quarter-mile.
With a 56.3 half came the outer tier, led by Nob Hill High (Eric Goodell). That one pressured toward the 1:24.3 three-quarters, through Electorfire maintained a short lead into the lane. Last week's winner, Tobago Cays (Jim Pantaleano), set it up from second-over, but he was not the problem.
The problem was Anniesweterncard, from third-up, picking everyone off late. He defeated Sapphire City by three-quarters of a length in 1:52.2, matching the fastest local mile of the season. Third went to Nob Hill High, with Electrofire and Electric Oui (Dan Dube) rounding out the payees.
For Annnieswesterncard, a 7-year-old Western Hanover gelding trained by Ron Burke for himself (as Burke Racing), Weaver Bruscemi, Panhellenic and M1 Stables, he returned $6.60 (second choice) for his second win in five seasonal starts. The exacta paid $48.80, with the triple returning $296.

SARATOGA GAMING AND RACEWAY
It was a sensational night for driver Joe Bongiorno on Saturday at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The 19-year-old reinsman recorded his first ever six-pack at the Spa. Four of Bongiorno’s six wins on the night came with Conor Flynn trainees. Flynn, whose Code Word won the first Open pace of the year last Sunday, saw his Doubletrouble (Richess Hanover) prevail in Saturday’s $15,000 pacing feature. Doubletrouble’s victory came in 1:54.1. In addition to the score in the Open two, Bongiorno recorded victories with Flynn pacers Max Will Start, Majorly Bad and Paradise Willie as well as piloting winners while catch driving Fly High and Carmens Best. Bongiorno and Flynn won last year’s up-and-coming driver and trainer awards, respectively, at Saratoga and are well on their way to avoiding “sophomores slumps” after getting off to strong starts to the 2013 racing season.
ROSECROFT RACEWAY
Driver Frank Milby showed the form that helped him become the leading driver for the Fall 2012 meet by winning three of four drives on Saturday night. Milby won by going wire to wire with both JK American Idol (trained by Bobby Clark) and Scarlet Pandemic (trained by Frank Gannon III). In the nightcap Milby worked out a second over trip to score going away. Milby scored in the fourth race with the first time starter JK American Idol. JK American Idol put up all the fractions, found another gear when the field turned for home and looks to have a bright future after scoring in 1:57.4. This 3-year-old daughter of American Ideal is owned by 3 Brothers Stables from New York, New York. Milby’s next winner came behind Scarlet Pandemic who stole a middle half of 1:00.1 and sprinted home in 28 to score in a season’s best 1:54.1 in the Maryland Owned, Sired, Trained or Foaled Winner’s Oval pace. Rocket Rosy sat a three hole trip , closing well late to claim the place spot and Shaker Rei unleashed a furious rally in the final three-eighths of the mile to grab the show dough. Scarlet Pandemic is trained and co-owned by Frank Gannon III , in partnership with Joan and Frank Gannon of Easton, Maryland. In the finale Shewolf and Ms Ed slugged it out for six furloughs before tiring from the battle and Milby was in the perfect spot to go right on by for an easy win with Wrangler Jane. Fool For A Smile loomed boldly at the head of the stretch but hung late after a big move on the final turn. The winner is trained and leased by Brian Malone of Delmar, Maryalnd. Fall 2011 leading driver Corey Braden scored a driving double on the night as did Billy Carter, while long-time leading Rosecroft driver John Wagner scored a dominating win with KJ Anita. Racing at Rosecroft resumes with a twelve race card Tuesday evening at 7:25 pm eastern.
