Pandy's Meadowlands $75,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 with 15% Takeout, Races 7-10, Saturday, March 9, by Bob Pandolfo

Since it’s so hard to hit these Pick-4s at the Meadowlands, I'm going to experiment so we can try to see what the best approach is. I'm going to create two tickets, one with a maximum bet of $64, and another "whale" ticket with a maximum of $320. I realize that most people reading this will not bet $320 into the Pick-4, but I think it will be interesting to see what my hit percentage will be with the bigger bet. Let's be real here, the people who actually win consistently and show a profit betting Pick 4's at the Meadowlands are making these bigger bets. I'll update the results every Thursday.

Last night I hit the Pick-4 for $316.90 on both the small and large tickets. With the fields getting smaller this week due to Harrah's Philadelphia opening it figured to be easier to hit and it was. Tonight I'm only going to play a small ticket because the fields don't seem as competitive as recent Saturdays.

$1 small play: 67/148/23/2349 = $48

$1 large play: None tonight

Analysis:

Race 7: This does not seem as wide-open as most Pick-4s at this track. OUTRAGEOUS ART and MUSSELSFRMBRUSSELS both look tough here.

Race 8:  I'm going to use 3 horses, PICTURE ME, HURRIKANE JON PAUL, and AREZZO HANOVER.

Race 9: ALWAYS THERE made my list of horses to watch off a big overland effort last week. I think some people will single him, but I’ll also use TERROR HIGH.

Race 10: This is the most wide open race of the sequence. I'll use all four of my contenders.
