New events to consider at the Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ --- A few new races have been added for this season at the Meadowlands.

The Meadowlands Maturity is an opportunity for the 4-year-olds to race for a purse estimated at $100,000 ($75,000 added). There is no condition on the race, it is open to all 4-year-olds and the top ten lifetime money winners entered will be accepted into the race. No payment is necessary to be eligible, other than the declaration fee of $2,500. The trotting race is set for Saturday (May 4) with the pacers to go on Saturday (May 18).

The Hudson River Pacing Series is open to both 4- and 5-year-olds that have not won four races or $150,000 lifetime, with all state bred earnings being excluded. This one travels between the Meadowlands, Mohegan Sun at Pocono and Tioga Downs for $18,000 legs and the top earners will convene at The Big M for the $75,000 estimated ($35,000 added) final on Saturday (May 11). A nomination fee of $1,000 is due by March 15 to gain eligibilty to this series.

Finally, the All Sires is for 3-year-olds that started in any sires stakes program in 2012 and did not win $100,000. The All Sires offers two $15,000 legs and a $60,000 estimated ($25,000 added) final, all raced at the Meadowlands starting Saturday (April 6). Nomination is at a cost of $750 and is also due March 15.
