Cal-Expo drivers battle Pompano’s best in Sunshine Pro-Am Challenge
Sunday, March 03, 2013 - by David Siegel

Sacramento, CA --- Team Pompano consisting of professional drivers Bruce Ranges and Wally Hennessey and amateur drivers Dein Spriggs and Joe Pennachio will try to defeat counterparts from Cal-Expo in the second annual installment of the Sunshine Pro-Am Challenge. The Pompano Beach oval will play host to Cal-Expo’s leading drivers Luke Plano and Steve Wiseman along with amateurs Rick Bertrand and David Siegel in a renewal of last year’s event, which saw Cal-Expo take home the trophy in come-from-behind fashion.

TrackMaster is making available FREE “Platinum” past performance programs for Monday’s full card in addition to FREE TrackMaster Greg selections. The Pick-4 races for the Sunshine Challenge will carry a guaranteed pool of $5,000.

Pompano Park’s Director of Racing, John Yinger, had this to say about the event: “It was wonderful hosting this event last year.  Our fans really enjoyed it and the handle was very healthy.  An event like this brings a nice variety to our program.  The on-track competition was great and I hope the event can continue to be the success that it was last year.”

The six races will all be contested on Monday.  The four amateur drivers will draw the four inside posts in the races as a way to make the races even that much more competitive.
