Margie Dale, 91, dies

Mt. Vernon, OH --- Margie E. Dale, 91, of Mt. Vernon, Ill., died Feb 22, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Bluford, the daughter of Archie and Pearl (Moore) Body. She married J.R. “Bob” Dale on July 10, 1944 in Quantico, Va., and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dale was a full-time school teacher at Bluford for many years, and was a substitute all over Jefferson County and even taught in one-room schoolhouses.

Later in her life, she traveled with her husband to various harness racing tracks in the Midwest and in the Eastern U.S. Her son, Danny, is the starter at the Meadowlands.

She and Bob retired in 1973 and took trips with friends in their motor home. She was a wonderful vegetable and flower gardener, and enjoyed square dancing and bowling in her earlier years.

Mrs. Dale is survived by her son, Danny (Deborah); grandchildren, John, Kimberly (fiancé Tyson Chamberlain) and Stacie Scott; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
