Hudson Valley horse shows to feature Standardbred divisions

Columbus, OH --- Starting this weekend (Feb. 24) there will be a Standardbred division in the Hudson Valley (N.Y.) Horse Show Series. Sponsored by Blue Chip Farms, the Standardbred division will have four classes -- numbers 70-73 on the show bill: Two Gait Hunter, Two Gait Pleasure, Two Gait Ground Poles and 18” Cross Rails.

The following shows will have the Standardbred division:

February 24 – Whisperwind Farm (Warwick, N.Y.)
March 17 – Old Field Farm (Goshen, N.Y.)
April 7 – Whisperwind Farm
May 19 – The Stables at MiraBella (Florida, N.Y.)
June 9 – Crystal Water Farm (Warwick, N.Y.)

Schooling for all the shows will start at 7 a.m., with the show itself beginning at 8 a.m. For more information about the Hudson Valley Horse Show series, visit www.hudsonvalleyhorseshows.com. There will be a yearend award and an invitational show for anyone who participates in two or more shows. Since 1996, the Standardbred Equine Program (SEP) has worked with off-the-track Standardbreds and their owners to educate the general public about the many disciplines at which Standardbreds excel once they are retired from racing.
