Thebandfromboston wins Filly and Mare Open Trot at Buffalo

Hamburg, NY --- In what was arguably the best race of the night, Thebandfromboston won the $8,500 featured trot in 2:03 for owners Foulk Brothers Inc. on Friday at Buffalo Raceway. It was the third win this season for the 7-year-old Boy Band-Pleasecometoboston mare.

Thebandfromboston (#7) was a narrow winner on Friday.

Leaving from the far outside in the field of seven, driver Mark Beckwith settled in fourth with the winner as Keystone Fling (Kevin Cummings) cut all the fractions in the race, :30.2, 1:01.4 and 1:32.3.

As the field hit the top of the stretch, Beckwith swung Thebandfromboston ($16.20) to the outside and a :30 last quarter-mile put the winner a neck in front of second place finisher Fancy Foxy (Jim McNeight) at the finish line. Starbux Eden (John Cummings, Jr.) came in third.

The $4,250 share of the purse put Thebandfromboston’s season's earnings to $10,160 and $169,900 lifetime. It was her 26th win in 95 lifetime attempts.

Billy Dobson led all drivers with four wins on the night. They were Ella V Horse ($3.00), Machman ($2.40), When In Doubt ($22.20) and Allamerican Danube ($2.80).
