Eighteen will start in the 2013 Prix d'Amerique
Thursday, January 24, 2013 - by Karsten Bonsdorf, USTA Web Newsroom Correspondent

One of the world’s most prestigious harness races, the Prix d’Amerique, will be raced this coming Sunday at Vincennes in Paris, France, over 1-11/16 miles, and with a total purse of €1 million -- or $1.3 million.

Eighteen trotters, from three countries, will participate in this year’s race, in which the French champion trotter Ready Cash will try to win the race for a third time in a row. This has not happened since the great Ourasi, who died recently, did it in 1987.

No North America trotter is among the entries, but Main Wise AS is a son of Yankee Glide and out of Desert Flower K (Sierra Kosmos) was foaled in Italy, is Dutch owned and is trained in France.
