Three straight for Do Me Honor at Meadows
Washington, PA --- Headed approaching the final turn, Do Me Honor fought back and claimed a narrow victory -- her third straight -- in Tuesday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Despite a parked-out first quarter in 27.1, Do Me Honor was on the lead when she encountered a first-over challenge from Tremor Hanover, who inched ahead. But Do Me Honor dug in for Aaron Merriman and defeated her game rival by a nose in 1:54.1. Lady Ashlyn rallied for show.
Bill Bercury trains and owns Do Me Honor, a 5-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right who now boasts $254,588 in career earnings.
Brett Miller drove three winners on the 15-race card. Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:55 p.m.

Jim Morand drove Sir Globalop Z Tam to a 1:51.2 win in the Tuesday $20,000 male claiming allowance at Dover Downs. After finishing second as the favorite last week, Sir Globalop Z Tam made amends this time, lowering his lifetime best by two seconds for trainer Les Givens and owners Jos Parker and Nanticoke Racing. It was the American Ideal-Hank’s Chip gelding’s first win in three starts this year. Lollipop Kid (Tony Morgan) finished second in front of Grab The Fortune (Vic Kirby). Ross Wolfenden drove three winners. Corey Callahan, the sport’s dash-leading driver in 2013, added a pair of wins, bringing his current total to 56.
