|Samandar and driver Corey Callahan were all alone at the finish at Dover|
Earlier, Little Michael B racked up a 1:50 performance with Ron Pierce driving in a $9,000 pace. The Cam’s Card Shark--Maid West 4-year-old gelding is owned by Baron Racing and VIP Internet Stables and trained by Josh Green. Pierce was able to pull away in deep stretch after fighting off Highbeam Rusty N (Corey Callahan). Luscious Al (Victor Kirby) came on to take second for the third straight time. Highbeam Rusty N hung on for third.
In addition to Callahan’s five wins, Hall of Famer Ron Pierce, trainer Les Givens and owner Nanticoke Racing made it to the winner’s circle three times. Trainers Mike Hall and Walter Callahan had two winners, each.
