Prix d'Amerique hopefuls complete their preparations
Saturday, January 12, 2013 - by Karsetn Bonsdorf, USTA Web Newsroom Correspondent

With a fortnight to go before one of the world’s greatest trotting races, the Prix d’Amerique, to be raced at Vincennes, Paris, France, several of the possible entrants will have their final preparation this weekend.

At Aby, Sweden, Quarcio du Chene and Noras Bean will trail the field by 40 meters in the V75 championship on Saturday afternoon, and at Vincennes the last of the four official test races, the Prix de Belgique, will be raced on Sunday afternoon.

In the Prix de Belgique the very popular Swedish trotter Maharajah will return to Vincennes after nearly one year. Maharajah has won four races in a row in Sweden … in very mediocre company.

Fifteen trotters are entered in the Prix de Belgique, and not since Queen L won the race in 1994 has the winner has gone on to win the Prix d’Amerique.

"Calendar boy" Ready Cash
The heavy favorite for the Prix d’Amerique, Ready Cash, will stay in his stall and won’t race before the big race. He is being aimed for his third victory in a row in the Prix d’Amerique.

Ready Cash is very popular in France and he has now his own website -- www.readycash.fr -- where fans can buy merchandise, and even a calendar featuring Ready Cash.
