The Meadowlands to offer 82 dates in 2013

East Rutherford, NJ --- Meadowlands Racetrack will hold 82 dates of live harness racing in 2013, as approved by the New Jersey Racing Commission at its meeting today.
The principal meet, which will officially begin on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, will run through Saturday, Aug. 3. Racing is slated for three nights a week, Thursday through Saturday, through Mar. 16. The schedule will then revert to Friday and Saturday until the Championship Meet finale on Hambletonian Day, Aug. 3. Fall harness racing will return to the Meadowlands calendar in 2013, with a brief engagement from Nov. 23 through Dec. 28.
Trainers who wish to race at the Meadowlands in 2013 must complete a racing application and submit it to the race office for approval by Dec. 10, 2012. The application is available online at MeadowlandsRacetrack.com, or by following this link.
Nominations are also being taken for the January and February late-closing program. Stakes applications are available under the Horsemen’s section of MeadowlandsRacetrack.com at this link.
An official stakes schedule will be released after the race secretaries’ meeting in December.
