Ayers Ratliff offers his picks for the $10,000 Pick-4 and the $7,500 Pick-5 at Northfield Park on Oct. 8, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.
On Monday (Oct. 8) Northfield Park has announced the addition of a $10,000 guaranteed Pick-4 total pool and $7,500 guaranteed Pick-5 total pool pool. Northfield Park’s Pick-5, Pick-4 and the Pick-3s offer a reduced takeout rate of just 14 percent, the lowest in harness racing.

Analysis:
Race 8: 2- No Fault Friskie – Appears to be coming into his own; looks to take these from start to finish. 3- Kilo Shark – Has been on the ticket five straight races; looks to keep the streak alive.
Race 9: 1- The Libberteriann – Could be dangerous from the rail.
2- Keystone Nite Hawk – One of several who have a big chance in here.
9- Utica Hanover – Draws into an easier division this week and could eek out a victory.
Race 10: 4- Veer Left – Looks like one of two that could get the top spot.
9- Man He Can Skoot – Moves to the Virgil Morgan Jr barn and could win right out of the box.
Race 11: 2- Rosie L – Draws better and has a big chance to do well. 5- Immmbluffin – Won this class the last time she raced in it; has been facing tougher but returns where she can win.

2-9/2-9/2/1-2-6/2-3-6 = $36.00Race 3: 2- Vail’s Prayer – Came up short at Delaware; does not look to come up short tonight. 9- Star’s Secret – Has been facing tougher; could do well in her Cleveland debut.
Race 4: 2- Noble Maximus – Gets some class relief and draws better too.
9- Koko In Flight – Looks to be in good form and may be the best in here.
Race 5: 2- Old Trafford – Draws into a race where several have a shot; went a single here to keep the ticket affordable.
Race 6: 1- Last Strike – Off of a couple of cheap fair wins; returns to Cleveland, draws the rail and could do well again. 2- B Delightfull – Another that could do well if she minds her manners. 6- Hooray For Valerie – Faces much easier and could be the winner if she minds her manners.
Race 7: 2- Teela’s Splash – Has won two of her last three races; could win again tonight. 3- Princess C – Drops back to a level where she was very competitive; should be competitive again. 6- I Love To Boggie – Has been second four times in a row; could keep the streak alive.
