Freehold, NJ --- Three Hambletonian hopefuls from the stable of trainer Noel Daley begin their quests for trotting’s grand prize when they race in Friday’s $54,866 John Simpson Memorial for 3-year-old male trotters at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Gym Tan Laundry, Magic Tonight and Royal Shyster make their seasonal debuts against seven other trotters, including world champion Googoo Gaagaa, in the Simpson. Daley spoke about his trotters earlier this spring.

Royal Shyster, purchased for $450,000 in November, was last year’s New York Sire Stakes champion while Magic Tonight won divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion stakes. Gym Tan Laundry won the Kindergarten Classic.

Googoo Gaagaa is coming off a 1:53.3 win in a non-stakes event at Harrah’s Philadelphia after going off stride in his first start of the season. The colt has won seven of eight career races for trainer Richard Hans. Last year, he won the Maryland Sire Stakes championship by 41 lengths in a world-record 1:56 at Ocean Downs.

Also entered in the Simpson Memorial for the colts and geldings are Another Amaretto, My MVP, No Frosting, Increditable, Fashion Astral, and Jersey Boy.

Daley’s She Wears It Well, who last year won a division of the Bluegrass, was among 11 entered in the Simpson Memorial for 3-year-old fillies. The rest of the field features Talbotcreek Jewely, Kissnmakup Hanover, Starglow Hall, Riverfest, Mariongotchocolate, Loose Deuce, Feegee, Vanity Treasure, Willing Wind, and The Heart Lives On.
