Ouellette avoids serious injury at Woodbine

Rexdale, ON --- Driver Luc Ouellette was unseated during the fourth race on Monday evening at Woodbine Racetrack. The Campbellville, Ont. resident was positioned fourth along the rail heading towards the half when he knew something was wrong with his horse As Duharas.

As Duharas was angled towards the safety lane when Ouellette decided to leave the race bike.

“I knew something was wrong with my horse,” Ouellette said, while walking back to the paddock under his own power. “I think he broke a line or the bit in his mouth. I had no control of him so I had to bail.”

Ouellette did suffer a bruised finger, but continued his driving assignments for the remainder of the evening. As Duharas also avoided injury.
