We Will See nips Foiled Again in Allerage Farms Open Pace

Lexington, KY --- We Will See held off late-charging Foiled Again and Dial Or Nodial to win the $183,000 Allerage Farms Open Pace in 1:48.4 on Saturday (Oct. 1) at The Red Mile.

Driven by Ron Pierce, We Will See was third in the early going while St Elmo Hero, who started from post No. 10, and Aracache Hanover, from post five, swapped the lead. St Elmo Hero held the advantage as the field reached the quarter-mile point in :26.4 before Aracache Hanover took over heading to the half.

We Will See started his move as the field reached the midway point, pulling alongside Aracache Hanover as they reached the half in :54.4. We Will See had the lead at three-quarters, in 1:22, with Dial Or Nodial applying pressure in second from the outside.

In the stretch, We Will See battled to hold off Dial Or Nodial while Foiled Again made his move from the far outside. We Will See held off Foiled Again by a nose in the three-way photo.

We Will See paid $3.40 to win.

“He gets better every week,” trainer Sam DePinto said. “I just can’t ask for anything more from this horse. He’s giving it his all.”

The 4-year-old We Will See has won 11 of 21 races and earned $1.18 million this season for owners Shannon DePinto, Earl Smith and Jerry Silva. The Allerage was his third victory in a row. Other top triumphs in 2011 include the $848,640 Canadian Pacing Derby and the $500,000 Ben Franklin Pace.
