Richard "Dick" Morgan, 69, dies

Columbus, OH --- Richard L. "Dick" Morgan, 69, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Waterford, died Dec. 7, 2009, at OSU Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Morgan was born Feb. 14, 1940 at Little Hocking, a son of the late Doris Morgan Newhart. He was a 1958 graduate of Marietta High School.

He was a Standardbred trainer and driver, racing horses in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

He is survived by two sons, Steve (Becky) and David (Amy); the mother of his children, Anne Bolin Morgan; brother, Rodney (Anita) Newhart; sister, Rhonda Newhart; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Collin, Haylee and Justin. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul; his second wife, Sedonia Spencer Morgan; and brother, Ron Newhart.

Honoring his wishes, his body was donated to the Ohio University Willed Body Program. There will be no services or visitation. A private gathering of remembrance will be held at the convenience of the family.
