Racehorses top summer Blooded Horse Sale

Burke Racing Stable, LLC brought a strong consignment of young horses to the summer sale. 

Most went to states with slots enhanced purses.  Mattifioso, a competitive 3-year-old pacer at the Meadows was the co-sale topper at $16,000.  He was purchased by Howard Taylor of Pennsylvania.  Conditioned claimer Absolutely Michael followed with a $14,000 bid from John Sherota of Monticello. 3-year-old pacing filly Susurrus Hanover was picked off by Bulletproof Enterprises for $13,000, and conditioned trotter Seneca T was purchased by Hauck Racing Stables in Indiana for $10,000.

Mel Gilbert shared the spotlight with one of his pair of green trotters.  Grandtourino, a maiden filly by Striking Sahbra was purchased by Oscar Thornton of Kentucky for $16,000.  Stablemate Kim’s Beauty went to Claude Huckabone of New York on a $12,500 bid.

The yearling portion of the mixed sale was led by the Donerail filly Tantalizing Donna. Consigned by Winterwood Farm, the classy trotter was purchased by Kerry Beaver of Radnor, Ohio.  The Chip Chip Hooray colt Lima Reaction took runner-up honors on a bid of $10,000 from Tony and Linda Schadel of Pennsylvania.
